Who is Sid Steiner From Yellowstone?

Sid Steine appears in Yellowstone as a real cowboy. Sid Steine is the third generation to operate the Steiner Rodeo Company.

Steiner was born on December 8, 1974, to parents Bobby Steiner and Joleen in Austin, Texas. His father, the Bobby, became a part of the gold buckle club after becoming the 1973 RCA World Champion Bull Rider.

The actor’s father ran the rodeo company with his grandfather Tommy for nine years and eventually sold the company in 1982. Sid and his brother Shane were 6 and 7 years old.

Although belonging to the rodeo family, Sid grew up playing football and baseball and went to Ranger College in Ranger, Texas, to play football.

Steiner later competed as a steer wrestler from 1995 to 2002 and won the PRCA Steer Wrestling World Champion in 2002, finally getting his golden buckle.

The cowboy met his wife, Jamie, at a rodeo game in Caldwell, Idaho. Both Jamie and Sid made it to the NFR in 2000. Jamie grew up on a racetrack with her father as a jockey.

The couple engaged in December 1999 and tied the knot in April 2001. Their firstborn daughter Steely was 11 months when he became a World champion. They also have a younger son named Rocker.

Both of their children are into rodeo, and Sid and his father Bobby are helping Rocker to become a bareback competitor and their daughter, Steely, a barrel racer on their ranch.

The duo owns the top-rated Steiner Steakhouse on Lake Travis and Vaqueros, a Mexican restaurant in Austin. Sid is also invovled in realestate.

Sid Appeared in Season 3

Sid starred in Paramore Network’s western drama Yellowstone. He appeared in the seventh episode, “The Beating,” of the third season of the TV show.

Guy Ferland from The Walking Dead(2010) serves as the director for the episode aired on August 02, 2020. The show creators, Taylor Sheridan and John Linson are credited as the writers.

Steiner is credited under co-stars on the episode along with the leads Kevin Costner (as John Dutton,) Luke Grimes (as Kayce Dutton,) Kelly Reilly (as Beth Dutton,) Wes Bentley (as Jamie Dutton), and Cole Hauser (as Rip Wheeler).

Previously, Steiner appeared in the 2002 documentary Breaking the Barriers. The feature-length film shows the internal struggle of cowboy Sid to do right by the sports he has come to love and keep up with his parents and new family simultaneously.

Directed by Kate Dawson, the documentary is a full-fledged interview with no third-person narrator involved. It gives the audience a peek into cowboy life with the world of rodeo as it’s a perfect backdrop.

Sid Steiner Starred His Son Rocker Steiner

Like his father, Sid is also a cowboy appearing in Yellowstone. The father and son duo appeared in the same episode in the third season of the TV show as co-stars.

Rocker Steiner grew up with his sister Steely and parents Sid and Jamie near Lake Austin in Texas. The rodeo guy started wakeboarding when he was three years old.

“He was 8 when he tried a flip on the wakeboard and landed it,” said his grandfather while speaking to Rodeo News, “He’s been a rockstar from the time he was able to walk.”

The young Steiner has competed in wakeboarding all over the nation but eventually got interested in rodeo. He claims wakeboarding is fun with friends, while bareback riding a wild animal gives a ginormous adrenaline kick.

He got his first bareback horse in 2016 but couldn’t do much good as he was scared, so his grandfather Bobby came in every day for his practice sessions to support and train him.

Like his father and grandfather, Rocker has set his eyes on becoming a world champion and plans on doing rodeo once he is 18. He joined NFR in 2022 and was the co-champion at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse Frontier Days and PRCA Rodeo in Weatherford, Texas.

He now tops the Resistol Rookie list for bareback riding and sits at the ninth position in the world standings after he finished Round 6 at the 2022 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo held from December 1-10, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
